Sitka, AK

I first arrived in Sitka in October of 2014. Over time, I produced a body of work that sought to reflect my complicated relationship to a landscape that was beautiful and awe- inspiring, while also feeling alienating and oppressive.  I had never seen a place where the landscape and its people existed in such proximity - where the barrier between people and nature was so thin. I wanted to explore this juxtaposition between wilderness and modern life.
